We were also very well represented in the Community games tournaments in both age categories. In draughts our under 10 team will be representing Wexford in the Leinster final. Well done to all involved and a special word of thanks to Michael Reville for his excellent teaching.
Table tennis success was also enjoyed by a number of our boys and girls both at under 10 and under 13. These teams will also be making their way to the Leinster finals to represent Wexford. Great credit is due to John Reville for his input intothis sport.
For the first time ever St. Joesephs National School Ballymitty was represented in a show jumping competition in Lismore, Co. Waterford. Our three participants did very well and maybe next time will bring home the trophy. Well done on representing our School to Oisin McDonald, Rachel Jordan and Bridin Reville.
We were delighted to receive the news that Madison Bennett had come 2nd in the Wexford final of the INTO handwriting competition. Madison is only 5 years old and her penmanship is outstanding. Well done Madison and keep up the good work.
In the community games art competition we had a number of children representing us and John Crosbie came away with 3rd place. Well done John.
I rith Seachtain Na Ghaeilge we hope you all made an effort to use the cupla focail that were sent home on the sheets for parents. Even one or two sentances a week builds up very quickly and when children see parents enthusiastic it gives them a positive outlook, so cupla focail gach la an seo amach !
I rith Seachtain Na Gaeilge we had our cheili sa halla and it was great to see so many parents there. Go raibh mile maith agaibh for your participation in the damhsa and we look forward to increased participation in the years ahead.
A special word of thanks to Alice Cogley who played her fingers off during the afternoon and who added greatly to the atmosphere with live music. Go raibh maith agaibh also to the Irish dancers who performed so well on the day and it was lovely to finish with an damhsa 'The St. Patricks Day' to celebrate La Fheile Padraig.
